Thank you to all our Foundation Funders, Community Sponsors and Individuals whose generosity supports our program.

MOWLB services Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood and Seal Beach Leisure World

By volunteering just a few hours, you can help us by Delivering More Than a Meal in your community.

Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of those who cannot purchase or prepare meals for themselves.

Supporting the independence and well-being of homebound seniors, veterans, and the disabled since 1971

Meals on Wheels of Long  Beach (MOWLB) was launched in 1971 during which time MOWLB has never missed a scheduled delivery day and has never stopped meal service to any client due to funding cuts from federal, state or local government. MOWLB has never accepted government funding.

During 2018, Meals on Wheels of Long Beach (MOWLB) delivered over 175,000 meals, an increase of over 50,000 meals in the last four years. In fact, MOWLB has consistently and sustainably increased the number of clients served during this period. Currently, MOWLB serves upwards of 425 homebound seniors, veterans and disabled, regardless of age, in Long Beach, Signal Hill and Leisure World Seal Beach.

COVID-19: How you can help

During these challenging times Meals on Wheels of Long Beach (MOWLB) will continue operations with modifications to the “friendly visit” aspect of the meal deliveries. Our kitchen is prepared to continue providing fresh hot dinners and cold lunches for our clients, without interruption, for the immediate future. To protect our clients and volunteers, we are practicing CDC and Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services precautions involving personal hygiene and social distancing as we prepare and deliver meals.

We wish to thank the City of Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services and the many local nonprofit senior service programs in our community for their encouragement and support during the current crisis. Most of all, we thank those individuals who are stepping forward and volunteering with us to ensure that all our homebound clients continue to be Nourished, Comforted and Protected throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
